Swim Guide

Save The Bays teamed up with our community partner, Waterkeeper Bahamas, to monitor 20 beaches in the two largest population centers in the Bahamas – New Providence and Grand Bahama – as well as on the much visited island of Bimini, on a bi-weekly basis. We test for basic water quality parameters to help ensure swimmable, fishable, drinkable water for all.

As part of the international Swim Guide program, the results are compiled and made available via the Swim Guide app, so that members of the public can access to information about the quality of the water in real time. We are very proud of our partnership with Swim Guide, which has helped to prevent thousands of waterborne illnesses around the world, simply by making it easy for people to know when their water is contaminated and when it is safe.
